This instrument originally was my grandmother's and four generations of hands have pressed keys on it.

Best way to clean the keys is with something really light and soft.
Stay far far far away from anything abrasive on the keys. Else you'll be wheel buffing each one to get the finish right again.

Long ago, I once put sharpie marker on the side of this piano when I was like 4 years old. I liked it so much that I tried writing my name on it and made random shapes on the underside. Now 35 years later I'm trying to sand and buff out the markings little me left behind. *LOL*
