i actually don't really know how you pirate minecraft outside of using an extremely shady custom launcher, i remember my parents got me java edition as a christmas present like 10 years ago lol

What I really want out of a voxel game is multiplayer Diablo-like dungeon crawling in a persistent open world, AND ALSO I have the Paraglider from Breath of the Wild," then the FOSS game you want is Veloren.

Yeah and luanti isn't a game its a game engine which is why its not really a good suggestion to replace minecraft: most of the games built on luanti are nothing like minecraft

you don't actually need an account to run the mc jar

there's a bunch of 3rd party launchers which are fully open source (& based off of existing launchers) which let you do this

@mjdxp tbf Minecraft is one of the few properties that MS has been surprisingly chill about, they even de-obfuscated the Java Edition code recently to make modding easier

@j0ebaldw1n uh, no? they've done all sorts of really bad stuff like making people either migrate mojang accounts to microsoft accounts (or else you lose access to the game you paid for) and shutting down servers for doing things they don't like without giving any solid reason why

But it's also tied to Microsoft's horrific account system and has become nearly impossible to use. I'm starting to feel like I have no option but to switch to a cracked version.
