The fact that there's so many tech people against daylight savings time tells me that it's probably a pretty good idea actually.

@dabeaz @drdrang As someone who cut my teeth in tech as an international distribution API product manager for Disney, I concur.

Time zone offsets are bad enough, but then some of them change sometimes, but not at the same time in every country, and even in the same country they sometimes don’t change at all.

Just so many location-based conditionals.

@dabeaz I am against it because it’s a bad idea badly executed, that doesn’t solve half as many problems as it creates.

Does raise a point i hadn't thought of -
Fewer and fewer of us set our own clocks - they are set through their internet connection. Will the internet allow time to be set separately in BC?

@dabeaz I hope you did a careful scientific evaluation of the pro-DST percentage in tech and on-tech populations!

Around me, roughly everybody is against DST.
