@anna i see you have almost assimilated. Ayam geprek next
@afif too vegetarian for that 😬
@anna Every single time I see durian posted - I remember when we carried one back home from Vancouver on ferry & city bus. No one sat near us on ferry. Everyone except the bus driver evacuated themselves from the bus. It only took 4 stops for bus to be empty except for our little family & bus driver 🤣✌️
@PhoenixSerenity can’t blame them 😬
@anna I remember my 2 little brothers being embarrassed & saying to Mom - We don't want to go to Vancouver again, if you're buying durian! It smells like farts & stinky socks! 🤣😂
@anna It is pretty tasty though! If you can get over the smelly 🤣
@PhoenixSerenity I’ll never seize to be amazed by how quickly I went from 🤢 to 🤤😋
@anna The magic of durian 🤣
@anna I prefer jackfruit though. Less stinky. Still tropically delicious 😁
@PhoenixSerenity kinda glad to know that I didn’t unlearn looking durian over the last 2 years
@anna @PhoenixSerenity a connoisseur of durian don't wear gloves. Since I was a child, I love smelling durian on my fingers the day after a durian feast.
@MadiqIzichi @anna We are not worthy durian connoisseurs!
@PhoenixSerenity I’m guessing this is an opinion we can safely discard
@anna YIKES! Yes. I'm going to block too.
@PhoenixSerenity @anna To me, durian tastes as good as it smells "bad" (it smells strong to me, not bad, but I do try to remember most people aren't fans). People who like stinky tofu and pungent cheeses usually can come to appreciate Durian.
@jf_718 @anna Most hotels now have signs: No Durians Allowed Inside Premises.
Apparently the durian smell needs a minimum of 72 hrs to air out.
@PhoenixSerenity @jf_718 buses also have that sign. Some hotels also don’t allow mangosteen, but mine wasn’t difficult about that, thankfully
@anna @jf_718 They didn't have the no durian signs in 80s/early 90s. The no durians allowed inside signs are more common now.
@anna Why no mangosteen? That is weird.
@PhoenixSerenity I’m guessing because the shells may stain?
@jf_718 @anna *Smells like ass* I should try eating it 😂🤣 #DurianEatingLogic
@jf_718 it used to smell really bad to me. Now the smell is still strong, but it doesn’t bother me as much anymore. @PhoenixSerenity
@jf_718 do like cheese. Not into stinky tofu yet, but I was first exposed to it when I had food poisoning, so I guess that’s a lost cause. @PhoenixSerenity
@anna Every single time I see durian posted - I remember when we carried a whole large one, back home from Vancouver to the island, on BC ferry & city bus. No one sat near us on ferry. Everyone except the bus driver evacuated themselves from the bus. It only took 4 stops for bus to be empty except for our little family & bus driver 🤣✌️
