When exploitation & inequality become extreme, people look for someone to blame. Getting members of oppressed populations to blame others who are similarly exploited is a time honored tactic. Blame people of colour. Immigrants. Queers. People of different religions.

The all time favourite tho, is blame women.

Misogyny is fomented through social & mainstream media. This is how boys learn what it is to be a man.

@26pglt '...since 2021'? Hoo boy, have I got news for them!
In 1985, I was working as a volunteer at an NGO, that had a DV Shelter. At that time they were bringing attention to a campaign to Break The Cycle of violence, which carried on through generations. Sons emulating their fathers; learning contempt for women as they grew up.
A-holes like Tony Abbott, were reinforcing contempt for women, not fostering it - because it has always been there.
It is not, and has never been a new concept. Nor is it a province of one particular religion. That is a very specious argument. Women deserve better.
