is it appropriate to send a get well card to somebody in hospice?

seriously

One of our volunteers had a heart attack

And since we don't see people on a regular basis we've been working on getting the card signed for the past week- it was going to go out in the mail on Monday.

I just found out tonight that the person is now in hospice.

I'm not sure if we should still send the card.

@MsMerope Any way you could criss out some of the words in the card and replace them with something more appropriate? I can't think of anything off the top of my head, but have done that before with family, this one seems like maybe not doable. But I am sure the person would like to receive the well wishes from those they know, from the card is a tough one.
@other95 yeah unfortunately 10 to 12 people signed the card and everybody wrote something along the lines of: get well soon, feel better, speedy recovery etc…
@MsMerope tough situation. I personally would send a note with the card saying I'm sorry, this is before we knew, but wanted you to know how much all your friends/colleagues care about you. But it's definitely awkward and I could see you deciding not to send it.
