Judge says Kari Lake’s tenure atop US media agency was improper, voids actions as ‘acting CEO’

U.S. District Judge Royce Lamberth concluded that her ascension was an illegal end-run around the Senate’s advice and consent role.

@juliehuz Julie, do you have any idea how the Judge plans to enforce this ruling? Without the Executive Branch to enforce their rulings, court orders are mere farts in the wind! That also speaks to your celebration for the Separation of Powers!

@Waldorf the constitutional precedent was reaffirmed with the removal of Alina Habba. Admin can appeal, and tie it up for several a l more.months. but end result is likely the same.

It can also be expedited through congressional appropriation or negotiation. Also through back pay settlement negotiations

@juliehuz You point to the Alina Habba removal and I point to USAID where 1 year ago the SCOTUS (5-4) and the DC Circuit ordered the Administration to restore funding. Where is USAID today? It appears to me that Trump has already ignored the Courts orders many many times.

As to Congressional action, that's a complete pipe dream and I am surprised that you would offer it as a reasonable action. With a normal Congress, maybe, but not with this one.

As to the Constitution, it has been renamed the TRUMPSTITUTION" and the VOA is dead!

@Waldorf I obviously disagree. GOP in Cobgress will continue to fracture at an accelerating rate as the primary season comes to a close. 40+ Republicans in swing districts to will want more distance between themselves and Trump prior to election
