Boost if you want to see AI data centers burned to the ground or if you enjoy tacos. 🔥 🌮

This toot kinda blew up.

1) Credit to fellow Mastodonian Tiddy Roosevelt for the original idea. She posted something last week to the effect of "Boost this if you want to guillotine billionaires or you like pancakes". Frankly, it was brilliant. So, that's where the inspiration came from. Full kudos to her.

2) In this purely theoretical exercise, it would be best to salvage the tech first before torching the entire place.

3) cooking the tacos over the fire is a nice touch. (* chef's kiss *)

@galacticstone do NOT, I repeat do NOT cook food , or be anywhere near datacenter infernos.
I 100% promise you there be cancer in that smoke.

Otherwise yes, spot on, I do love tacos

@galacticstone boosting twice
@galacticstone actually i'd rather see the data centers dismantled and the parts used to empower, but if that's off the table then yknow there's always plan B
@matildalove @galacticstone 'B' is for burn 🤭

@punissuer

A is for all of us working together
B is for burn that shit down

@galacticstone por que no los dos?
@galacticstone You wouldn't be able to make this toot or send an email without data centers. Better to keep your ire aimed squarely at AI specific ones
@zephyrxero Good point. I fixed it. 😀
@zephyrxero @galacticstone I mean, we sent emails just fine before data centers existed, and a lot of fedi instances are self-hosted on actual hardware (including in one notable instance a barely functional phone powered by solar), so while opinions differ I personally wouldn’t mind if the qualifier was dropped 😅
@zephyrxero @galacticstone we don't need ai data center to search through web
@galacticstone I would like to use the heat from the ashes of a burned data center to cook some tacos.

@galacticstone i don't want to see them burn (because climate change) but i want to see them repurposed to something actually useful

does that count?

@galacticstone Please distribute the servers before bombing everything to the ground.
@galacticstone i want to watch a datacenter burn while eating tacos
Tacos cooked in an oven heated by the red hot coals of a former data centre.
@galacticstone Most taco places here don't have non-meat ones, so I don't often enjoy tacos. FWTW.
@dalias @galacticstone Here there's vegan french tacos but it's more like thicc falafel shawarma.
@galacticstone I wonder how secure the cooling system controls are at these datacenters. :3c
@galacticstone Can we replace AI data centers with a local community member making tacos? Would be significantly more beneficial to everyone
@galacticstone Can we maybe burn them to the ground and use the heat to MAKE tacos? Just wondering.
@galacticstone
I’m conflicted because I appreciate the sentiment but prefer tortillas and would rather see AI datacenters dismantled and repurposed.
@galacticstone let's take them apart in an orderly fashion and recycle all the parts. I dread to think of the fumes coming off a burning datacentre. Then we could use the profit to set up a free for all healthcaresystem or alleviate climatechange. My tacos on the other hand; red hot& onfire please!
@galacticstone I'd rather see their components reused for something useful rather than causing pollution.

@galacticstone the best way is to simply ignore ai data centers

That way they loose G$ spent for nothing

If it's needed and their investment is returned it's beneficial and "useful"

I'm for plan C let the burn it them selfs and waste all the $

@galacticstone you can do that by making an macro and send stupid prompts to ai. That way he'll use 1MW/h for you and do that for 24 hours that's 24MW if not more

Do you know this data centers are build with 1000 if not more best graphics that's lot of power generating them. Use them but don't pay them. And most importantly don't pay attention to them. Just use them.
