I saw a snek. I don't know my sneks. This is definitely not a cobra. Probably not an anaconda. The real guesses are Northern Watersnake, copperhead, or cottonmouth?

@parslii northern watersnake!!!
@ActuallyAubrey @parslii definitely a water snake. Completely harmless derp... I mean herp.
@parslii Harmless common watersnake
@parslii
Snakes on land don't really bother me. Snakes in water scare the shit out of me!

@parslii i didn't grow up in a country with poisonous snakes so i can't help you there, but i want to thank you for sharing & a compliment to how beautiful & cool this video is πŸ‘ŒπŸΌπŸπŸ–€

i will probably never see such beautiful creatures in real life, so i very much appreciate it!

@parslii also, didn't it attack you?
@poisonpunk no! I was on a trail next to the lake. Used zoom feature on phone camera. It was just doing its thing. I could have just walked away if it got too close for comfort.
@parslii oh good! i am glad you were safe. but as other commenters have mentioned it's apparently not poisonous. i didn't grew up or ever lived anywhere with many snake species, we only have vipers & worms lol.
@parslii I'd say brown water snake, with a very slight chance of cottonmouth.
@parslii I did see where this was identified. Just for the future, cottonmouths are rarely found above the fall line. Though their numbers appear to be increasing in recent years. They are a very adaptable snake. That have a bad rep.
@parslii aww, a pretty brown watersnake!
