Okay, hardware peeps: what is the trick to putting on RJ45 connectors? I keep having these tiny wires cross over after I line them up and start inserting the flat bundle into the connector. Or one will just refuse to slide into the groove and bend and then shove the others out of alignment. Is there like a jig or something where I can lay out the wires and keep them aligned as I shove them into the connector?
@pirateguillermo Isn't that called "802.11"? 🙂
Seriously, there are crimping tools for that, right?
@kwerle Indeed, but PoE hasn’t come to WiFi yet. And the crimping tool is the problem - it doesn’t have a wire channel to feed the eight tiny wiggly wires into the corresponding channels in the connector. They also don’t come with instructions, so you just get to try over and over again until you manage to get a cable that tests okay.
