Hello, hive mind. I would like recommendations of tutorials to up my game at painting miniatures. I'm particularly thinking of glazing and NMM, but anything else good for someone who can already vaguely competently slap paint on models but wants to get better would be appreciated. Text rather than video for preference, and no AI. Thanks!

@RexMagenta

Juan Hidalgo has a series of NMM tutorials showing different easy ways to do the effect, very good for finding one that works for you that you can then refine.

@RexMagenta

Also, I do apologize for the part where they're videos, but finding useful text tutorials is harder than finding professional painters who don't focus on warhams.

@NinjaDebugger @RexMagenta i cannot even come up with good text suggestions.

When it comes to videos, though, you might give Zumikito a look too. He has at least one that shows how to nmm in five minutes, as a starter

@RexMagenta I think you will get a lot from the book "The Art of Tommie Soule." Tommie has been teaching people to paint in person for more than 20 years, and the book gives the reader a strong framework for understanding their painting, and answering the kinds of questions you have. Disclaimer: Tommie is a good friend, and I helped out with the book. I don't benefit from sales, though.
