Nerds! Is there a location tracker (like a physical tag) that I could put in a backpack and attach to an app so my family could see where I was at any given point in time? Ideally I'd like one that draws a fun little map with my route. AirTags? Do they draw a little map or just say current location?

[NOTE: I am not recommending anyone else does this, and it won't be permanent, I just have a limited use case for which I would like to use one of these things]

@girlonthenet The thing about tracking tags is that they're Bluetooth devices, and they rely on some nearby phone, constantly scanning, to go "oh, I recognize that as a tracker device, so I'm gonna report over cellular that I just saw it here." But those phones are stupid picky about which devices they acknowledge. So if my Pixel sees an Apple Airtag, it doesn't care. But if it sees a Pixel tag, it'll report in. Apple and Samsung also only report on their own tags. Find a satellite tracker.
