@RealJournalism Soon the mandatory language will be: women are inferior to men, so they naturally choose inferior jobs. Any rape threats they experience when trying to enter male-dominated fields are simply nature preventing the dire mistake of allowing inferior workers into superior fields. Teaching & nursing pay less than AI chatbot design because they are less important work done by less important people. Women make less than men in the same jobs because the men are always better at them.

@RealJournalism No one, and I mean NO ONE, helped me when my dept chair, a chemist, unilaterally banned me from teaching my discipline (physics) for two years because she didn't like the content (namely relativity) and was too stupid to understand it herself. SACS wouldn't help. AAUP wouldn't help. AAPT wouldn't help. I have little sympathy for other academics. I had to get a lawyer who advised me that because I was harassed by a woman I had no legal recourse. Welcome to the club!

To be fair, evolution is taught badly if at all in the USA. Apes evolving into humans is only the most dramatic of end points (that Darwin only dared to hint at in his first book) that are all around us—oranges and lemons, apples and pears, cats and tigers and hyenas and wolves and dogs. Properly understood, its truth is inescapable.

@hugh @RealJournalism Yes, but it's no excuse. Take for example racists like to point to US crime stats and say 'blacks do crimes' It of course ignores income disparity but beyond that, 'black' in the US is 1/32nd of your ancestry was 'black', a large portion of the 'blacks' in the US are genetically more than half white and those crime numbers actually demonstrate racism itself and how we judge people by skin tone.

@RealJournalism the anticipatory compliance started as soon as he was elected. TikTok per statute was shut down for like half a day but because Trump insisted he would work out a deal it was illegally back up in no time. That law might have been stupid, but it was super clear from that moment just how screwed we were that there would be cave in after cave in to whatever his people put out there.
