@daringfireball so today's Macbook Neo costs the equivalent of $190 in 1984 dollars. Which is basically what the #Commodore64 sold for at the time.

$190?! My parents paid a lot more for the #C64 11yo me got for xmas. Spent years saving enough for the 1541. Still worth the money though!

As for the Neo I think it'll be a huge success, stealing the spotlight from chromebooks and cheap (and useless) windows computers.
My biggest gripes with it are that useless second USB port, and that it supposedly only supports a single external monitor. Not too worried about the memory, most browsers are do aggressive saving.

@avmakt If you need support for more than one external display, the Neo is not the MacBook you want.

@gruber From a pricing point of view it is the macbook I want, as I'd love to be able to replace our cheap chromebooks that DO support our dual monitor setup.

@avmakt @gruber well ya, we’d like a $100 mac, too, but that isn’t the product offering. chromebooks are cheaper than Neo because they’re crummier, full stop
