How is this not resulting in an immediate referral to The Hague?

Outright murder by a national military.

There was, and still is, no declared war between the USA and Iran, the Iranian ship was unarmed and defenceless, no succour was offered for survivors, and the action took place in international waters.

This action was every bit as bad as the attack on Pearl Harbour.

The USA is a rogue, pariah state run by a Congress and Executive who are criminals.

@PeterLG that’s outright incompetence by the Iranians if true — and I doubt that it is. I am unaware of *any* warship that leaves port without ammunition. Who does this? Second, if you don’t have any ammunition why the fuck are you leaving port to return back through an active war zone? After days of watching the ships get sunk, what exactly did you think was going to happen? Third, how would anyone know that it didn’t have any ammunition? It’s all held inside.

I’m all for criticizing the United States here, but this really a stupid take.

You might as well say, “When you don’t think about it, a school and a warship are exactly the same thing.”

@jonathankoren @PeterLG I see other apologists of the US army on Youtube and X saying the same: "Oh of course it was armed, this proves you don't know anything about war" argument.

Well sure, let's say that it was armed. Do you still see how horrible it is?

I think all it proves is that you're not very serious about questioning the murder of 130+ people at sea, left to drown. No warning calls made to the coast guard to show respect of enemy military colleagues. This is barbarism, nothing else.

@benjaoming @PeterLG is it barbaric? Is it murder? Is it senseless? Yes. That’s what war is.

As for the coast guard, you mean the Sri Lankan one? The one that showed up on its own?

I don’t know why you’re intent on trying hold one side blameless. If the Iranians were good at their job, they would have sunk the submarine

To be honest, you sound like you have a childlike naïveté

@jonathankoren @PeterLG "To be honest, you sound like you have a childlike naïveté"

great argument, the lack of respect is now mutual.

I think you're normalizing acts of barbaric over-powering and annihilation of the enemy. It's not just war. And you're not trying to hold the mass-murdering side accountable. Unlike you, I'm not here to tell the dead Iranian crew that it's their own fault.
