A 7.5 x price hike.

This isn't even fancy high performance RAM that would be actually useful for AI applications or good enough to be used in a modern data center rack.

This is the most bland piece of hardware used for mediocre standard PC with non-exciting specs to do boring office work.

Fuck AI's destruction of the affordable home computer.

@hzulla
Nobody wants AI? Make sure PC to do stuff offline are so damn expensive that people move to the cloud at a small monthly fee. Proceed to kill the PC market entirely.
Stuff unwanted AI into everything when people ca no longer escape, then quadruple the subscription price.
@hzulla @isotopp This is just Tim apples long con plan to finally make Apple memory prices look sane

@hzulla 4 years ago I bought 64GB RAM für my Gaming PC.

I am now thinking about selling 32GB to retro-refinance it....

@hzulla meanwhile nvidia stock price is hovering since january 🤞

@hzulla

I have to nitpick something. It is not AI, it is Multi-Billionaires economically squeezing the home computing market. Meta and Advance Publications among others are already feeling the effects of attention, care, competence and knowledge shifting to our small corner of the internet. I bet Oracle and Microslop are feeling the squeeze, too.

@hzulla AI does not buy the RAM for home computers. AI buys the RAM factories.
Nobody builds RAM for end users anymore.
