Worth repeating.

The Iranian warship that was sunk by a torpedo was returning from a joint exercise the U.S. pulled out of on the last moment.

Per protocol joining ships were unarmed. Ships had no option for defence. The U.S. knew.

The U.S. sank the ship and offered no help to the survivors.

#EU is this what we want to part of? Murder, also on murderers, remains murder.

"So much winning"?

Very truthful communication of former Indian foreign minister Kanwal Sibal.

@spdrnl
We already bombed a bunch of civilian boats for no reason, this shouldn't be surprising. It will probably keep happening for at least another year.
Iran warship sunk by the US was on way back from exhibition hosted by India

The sinking ignited a significant debate within India regarding maritime security in the strategically vital Indian Ocean

The Independent
@spdrnl If this is true, an unambiguous war crime. Yes, soldiers are legitimate targets, but only if they are in a combat posture. Already soldiers on leave are protected by IHL.

@spdrnl Is this the ”Warrior Ethic” of Hegseth?

Sound more like suckerpunch ethics to me!

I wouldn’t carry one bucket of water for losers like this.

@gimulnautti The lawlessness, together with #AI and #surveillance type of warfare Israel developed during the genocide of Gaza presents very serious dangers.

It has all the hallmarks of global thuggery.

@spdrnl @PattyHanson Bad time to be planning a cruise. Iran has subs.
@spdrnl Whoa! Hope this isn’t true, but if it is I’m not surprised.
@spdrnl USA and Israel bedfellows which consistently commit war crimes. Both as bad as each other,
@spdrnl if the US knew this, then the operation was purely for show. Listening to US leadership talking about this war sounds like the bragging of high school bullies.
@spdrnl This incorrect claim is spreading fast.
Visakhapatnam is 1400km from where IRIS Dena was attacked.
Milan-2024 included gunnery exercises. See 1:00 in this video: https://www.ifrmilan26.com/custom/milan-2026
Media articles do not include the claim that IRIS Dena was unarmed except where they cite Kanwal Sibal's claim as unverified. He is an 82yo retired diplomat, not close to the exercises.
Iranian warship hit by US torpedo was 'defenceless', former Indian official claims

The ship had taken part in naval exercises hosted by New Delhi and was in international waters, former Indian Foreign Secretary Kanwal Sibal says

Middle East Eye
@worik That is still just "former Indian Foreign Secretary Kanwal Sibal says".

@spdrnl https://www.historyandheadlines.com/september-12-1942-u-boats-rescuing-ship-survivors-attacked-us-bomber-laconia-incident/

Didn't know about this until i searched for relevant ww2 uboat newspapers.

Thought i would find one saying how evil the nazi uboats were for not rescueing survivors. I knew early in the war they would get all the sailors off before sinking merchant ships.

September 12, 1942: U-Boats Engaged in Rescue Efforts Attacked by U.S. Bomber! (The Laconia Incident) - History and Headlines

On September 12, 1942, one of the saddest and most regrettable incidents of World War II took place following the sinking of the RMS Laconia.

@spdrnl Hegseth has declared that he will not fight honorably. He is a barbarian in command of the most powerful military on earth.

@spdrnl

Hegseth didn't learn the lesson of pearl harbor
