“I am software, that’s just not something I can do.”

This freaked me out AND made me laugh very hard!

The background:

I have always had Siri turned off on my phone, it’s not that I think it can’t be useful it’s just I find it very creepy to talk to my phone.

Evidently I need to separately turn this off in the new Apple Watch I got for monitoring my heart (which it is fantastic for). It will start listening if I just raise my arm.

The story:

Stella’s lead is broken so when I let her out I went and sat on the porch in bare feet to keep an eye on her.

She thought this was fun and was dancing and bouncing around me on the front porch.

“Don’t you need to pee? You can go pee now, ok!”

The watch replied: “I am software, that’s just not something I can do.”

@stepheneb
Was I actually was trying to set this as a reminder, being a smart ass, or siri just made it? I no longer remember.

How are the heart checks going?

@jerzone

The afib stopped about 2 weeks ago a couple of days after I started an absurdly expensive medication: Dronedarone (Multaq), a Class III Antiarrhythmic.

Went to the pharmacy that Friday with the new prescription and the pharmacist asked: “Do you know how much this costs?”

“No, how much?”

“$650 a month.”

I left.

Am on Medicare and that night I discovered I could spread prescription costs across the whole year for Part D so now I’m paying $2100/12 a month … sigh

@stepheneb Well, that beats the alternative but so many things to figure out.

I was on really expensive one last year and at end of year pharmacy plan for medicare wrote that they'll no longer cover any of the prescription in 2026. Luckily it was announced before end of year enrollment.

@stepheneb I use homepods mini so I can have music playing or a youtube video going while I'm doing things through the house. They're really great for that.

I had to turn off Siri. The TV kept triggering them. The moment that convinced me I needed to kill that was when one of them started calling a friend of mine and I didn't know how to stop it.
