For all of those #MARCHintosh veterans, what is the highest version of System 7 that will be compatible with A/UX? So far, I've seen it's 7.0.1, but I wonder about any of the later versions. Does 7.1 run A/UX? I don't expect 7.5 or greater to support it.
@claudiom A/UX replaces the existing system software, rather than running as a program on top of it. Akin to a PC dual-booting Linux and Windows. So if the hardware is A/UX compatible, you should be golden no matter what other system version you also have installed.
@claudiom (I'm also cooking up an A/UX #Marchintosh project this month, so I'm keen to see what you make!)
@kabootie Thanks for the info. So do I have to create a separate partition for A/UX then?

@claudiom A/UX itself is based on System 7.0.1, so you can expect a level of compatibility with Mac apps from that era.

The MacPartition you use to run the launcher, IIRC, can be upgraded to 7.1.

@smallsco Ah, OK then. I'm still a bit confused on how A/UX works, but this makes more sense now. I did see others saying basically what you are saying as well.
