I started collecting comics about two years ago. I have about 150. Not a huge amount. I haven't read a single one.
@fesshole I mean, most collections are for display only. Makes sense to me.
@iakobsdesamos Yeah what a complete waste of @fesshole
@fesshole
Like most of the vinyl records sold in the last ten years.
@IsItBroke @fesshole Just used for wall art, the poor things 😭
@Mabande @IsItBroke @fesshole eh, maybe it's to support the artist by buying their merch?

@Rubelicious @Mabande @fesshole

Maybe; the musicians I know prefer you to buy the album digitally from their website or Bandcamp; mastering and manufacture of vinyl is expensive and does not bring them as much margin and you’d think - even at £38 for a record.

@IsItBroke @Mabande @fesshole cool for them/you. Some people I know like to produce physical goods for their art, including some musicians, and tie various art forms together in the process. I try and buy their expensive records so they recoup some of their losses. They're not for display.

@Rubelicious @Mabande @fesshole

Jolly good; but I suspect you’re an outlier as I bet most new vinyl never gets played.

@IsItBroke @Rubelicious @fesshole Yep. I'd bet there a big difference in plays per sale between a major act like say Taylor Swift's latest quadruple pressing and up'n'coming act Boko Yout's debut.
(notice how I very sneakily plugged "Gusto" there? it's a good album is what I'm saying)
@fesshole fellow tsundoku person...
@fesshole Standard collector behaviour. I know someone that has done that with Star Wars figures. Another with Pokémon. Probably a wise investment. Is this even a Fess?
