@faux_icing Thanks for writing this, and appreciate the Type Foundry Directory mention!
@faux_icing Is there a problem with this page? To me it looks like some CSS is missing.

@faux_icing Thanks for this! A couple of small things

1. All the links are weird google.com redirect notices

2. Netflix Sans was made before Gotham was sold to Monotype. IIRC, one of the very first articles announcing Netflix Sans had a quote (maybe from a DaMa employee/contractor) saying Gotham licensing was in the millions, and unsustainable. It was retracted quickly, and there was a scuffle on Twitter with Hoefler proclaiming “millions” wasn’t true at all. Maybe it’s all archived somewhere…

Thanks for the warm response and input about the writeup!

Apologies for the late response; was occupied these few weeks. Yes, the Spotify font change (i.e. from Gotham) was centered on just the logo. I have also taken note on Netflix Sans predating Monotype's Gotham acquisition. They have been updated accordingly.

The reason the webpage looks wonky and shows Google redirect notices is that it’s a Google Docs page embedded in a site builder 😅. I’m still a novice at building a fully functional website and am just experimenting with what I have and know. I’m open to suggestions, but I’d appreciate a bit of leeway to tinker with the site and get a feel of things.

@faux_icing @klim @melvian Thanks for writing this article! These are important issues that need a bigger audience.
@faux_icing I thought Spotify used Circular from Lineto primarily? Or did they also use Gotham on parts of their site (they used it in their logo for sure)?
