I have installed Arch and alpine on my laptop. I'm looking for a suitable OS that boot the device quickly. I can't see that much different between Arch and windows (2~3 min). Alpine is kind of helpful to the situation with ~1 min boot time.
Probably the major issue is the HDD in the lap.

@samitha the hdd is *definitely* the issue, I would say. Maybe try MXLinux?

@kirenida Thanks for the idea. I'll try MXLinux next time. I'm posting this to participate in a laptop giveaway competition. Maybe I can use a new laptop with MXLinux. 😆 🤔
