New story alert. Because I’ve had quite a few friends ask me to continue this one, I am. It was only meant to be a standalone story, but here we are. I'm continuing one I wrote in 2017! This story follows Milady de Winter and Armand Jean du Plessis AKA Cardinal Richelieu.

She is not to be owned, and she is not to be toyed with. She is to be admired, respected, fought for, protected, and perhaps even loved, but never coveted. She cannot be purchased nor can she be possessed. And yet, she desires all of these things from one man and one man only.

@floofpaldi

That's the role I first really noticed Peter Capaldi in, and I utterly LOVED him as the Cardinal.

So delightfully devious and nasty - and yet, also vulnerable and loyal. He really gave that character so much depth.

@Firlefanz Was it really? I love that. Also, I couldn't agree more. "So delightfully devious and nasty - and yet, also vulnerable and loyal." That's just the best way to describe his Cardinal Richelieu.

@floofpaldi

I only watched the first season (bought the DVDs), and I'm not sure I'll watch the rest. The Cardinal really was one of the best characters in the entire series.

@Firlefanz He's a great character, and I really do love writing stories with him. The original plan was for him to be on for the entire show, but Peter got the role of the Doctor, so he had to leave at the end of the first season. Timing stinks, sometimes.

@floofpaldi

It does, and I think it basically killed the show. Just really bad luck for a great series with cool story arcs.

@Firlefanz Oh, I get you. I totally understand that. I will say, however, that I've written a lot of things about him having to *fake* his death, so at least there's that, right? And it was worth it for me, just to watch the rest of the show because I also love Treville so much.

@floofpaldi

Yes, Treville is a great side char. And I mean, the boys are fun, too, heheheh.

(I love, love, love their horses. All great Frisians.)
