Just learned this very fun Fanfiction, HP Fanfiction, got a 7 figure book deal. I knew publishers were gonna try to turn Fanfiction into profit, but you can't make this an original work without years of rewrites. Still, this is the first time I've ever felt gross about pulling to publish. The author hates JKR's Transphobia and all the things but I personally think publishers should leave Fanfiction alone.

To be clear, I have no problem with pull to publish, even after this, but it makes more sense if the work is an AU and characters can be changed, easily.
