I wrote a thing for a close friend, named it "Start Me Up," and I figured I'd share it here with everyone. I haven't been sharing much of my writing lately, but I should get back on that train again. Does anyone like Apple TV's Criminal Record? Big fan here, along with some friends, so I wrote a little something.

It was vaguely inspired my friend Lex's story, but only in terms of the pairing we both love. It's absolutely fantastic, too. I swear, I love the way she tells a story. You're automatically ensnared. Let me just say that mine is nothing like the plot of her piece. My story actually takes place Post-Series 1 entirely.

Guys, I'm not okay...

Some context is needed before I tell this story. I was chatting on the phone with a friend (who was in Glasgow for #PeterCapaldi's second concert). I jokingly said, "Say hello from me if you bump into him." LOL. Okay, long story short, said friend of mine was quiet last night/all day after his second show... She pops up a while ago in the GC as she's at the airport and says she bumped into PCap in a coffeeshop a few hours before the show. She told him I said hello, while also pronouncing my last name perfectly. (She's polish and knows.) She said, "Yeah, she has a long last name and you've probably seen her in all the projects we've done over the years (books and videos) for you or for Doctor Who. He goes, "I always wondered how it was pronounced..." She also said hello from one of my other friends too, one who's an artist and loves him a lot. And he also said hey back and all that. Welp, I'm dead. That one sentence just ended me.... I just saw that message while on the phone with Teresa and lost my mind.

Day, month, year = made. 😵

Edit: This was sweet. I forgot to add something. He asked what nationality my last name was and she said Ukrainian. He immediately jumped to ask if all of my family was here in the US, and they are. What a sweetheart. That warmed my heart.

Someone just asked me if my username here has anything to do with a certain #PeterCapaldi, just because of my #DoctorWho post earlier. It does. He has fluffy and floofy curls, and I love my handle. It's a username from elsewhere and I just brought it here with me when I moved sites.

Edit: I have a few friends who call me Floof as a nickname too. People say my hair is just as curly, so... 😂

So, #PeterCapaldi was my first Doctor, and well, you know what they say about everyone’s „first“, don’t you… and also TBTH: #number15 and I, we weren‘t exactly off to a smooth start after I loved his acting in #SexEd. But in the end, I kind of bit the bullet and by episode 310, I think the bond between me and the Doctor was well established.

So: if you read this, #NcutiGatwa: thank you for being my new #doctorwho

I just watched "Last Christmas" for the first time, and there is just SO MUCH SASS.

12 GETS SASSED SO MUCH.

EVEN THE LAST DREAM-CEPTION FELT LIKE A SASS. TO HIS EGO.

WHY DOES IT FEEL LIKE A LONG TIME SINCE SUCH RAPID FIRE SASS? I LOVE IT.

Low-key wish Capaldi was given more single-episode stories like DT/MS had. I really missed what felt like way-too-fast moving dialogue and plot. I think because of how much more two-parter episodes Capaldi got, I felt like the number of stories on screen were… Fewer? And -- totally psychological effect, I get it -- I felt like I didn't get as much time to watch him as I did DT and MS.

Btw, I bought the 9th-12th doctors' DVD set and a second copy of the just-Capaldi DVD set because at least one of the disks came scratched. The quality of the casing and disks is Cheapo McCheapface. Y'know how dvds are normally silver-rainbow-mirror like? The disks were most often two different shades of silver-rainbow-mirror curving at random, like shitty AI yin-yang twists. I can't recommend these for long term storage. wink wink nudge nudge

I even bought them to try to preserve the episodes and specials for myself. But… I couldn't help but squint with disgust at the weird, oily coating (like what you get from wish-dot-com products' plastic) in each of the DVD boxes.
I just gotta get a CD soft case to store them like pokemon cards.
