Only the United States could bomb a country, kill its leader, massacre its children, declare the intention to destroy its military and topple its government, and then call that country’s retaliation against US military bases “unprovoked”.

US Calls Iranian Retaliatory Strikes "Unprovoked", And Other Notes

@faab64 they seem to forget that the man they have killed was not only the national leader but also their religious leader. What would Italy say if America bombed the pope?
What would the rest of Europe say?

@faab64 Correction, we haven't toppled their government, just killed their leader.
That is why they are firing retaliatory missile strikes in the region. It is very unlikely we will overthrow the Iranian government without "boots on the ground".
Just a friendly reminder that Iran is not Iraq, we not going to win this war in a few weeks. It is likely we kicked the hornets nest and failed in destroying it.

It's kind of funny, it's almost as though there was no plan to follow through with regime change after military strikes.

@faab64

"He hit me back first! This is an outrage!"

@faab64 I don't know, the Israeli government seems pretty unaware of it's previous behaviour. Must be some kind of dictatorial derangement syndrome.
@faab64 that is how many USamericans are raised. If a bully at school tortures kids nothing happens. If a tortured kid stands up against the bully, they are punished.

@Ilka4You @faab64

I know this firsthand.

It's actually one of the reasons I have held a lifelong hatred for sportsball. Jocks can bully and rape with impunity because their value as sportsball players is deemed more important than the pain of their victims.

I used to fuck those bastards up in response to their bullying and violence and got suspended every time while absolutely nothing happened to them at all

They never bothered me again, but I had to teach more than one that lesson

@CosmickTrigger I am sorry you lived though this. And I am happy you stood up anyways. I never understood why this is happening, & supported by teachers & deans, but now it "makes sense" even if it does not make sense at all. (Thank you.) I experienced sports being the center of everything as well and once had to defend a kid against teachers and parents when it should have been protected by them - if I had known the psychology of it back then, it might have made things easier. @faab64

@Ilka4You @faab64

While I would never ban sports outright - people should be allowed to enjoy things - I think it should be removed from schools and colleges and relegated to hobbyists who pay to maintain their own football fields so they can sustain head injuries, permanent brain damage, and broken necks on their own fucking time.

There are plenty of public baseball and basketball fields already, too.

Capitalism being involved in sports has made it Bread and Circuses-type shit

@faab64

The news has been using the word "retaliate" as deliberate weasel-word use.
There's an old adage about if you find yourself in a court, tthen the prosecution or defence may accuse you of "retaliating" if someone attacks you.
The boring reason is that if you "retaliate" then you are seen as being just as violent as the person who attacked you.

It's all wordplay and semantic games.

The BBC has switched from saying "retaliation" on Saturday to now saying "Iran's response" which is acceptably neutral legal terminology.

@faab64

Not only the US. The UK's Foreign Secretary was doing exactly that this morning.

My friend kicked you in the balls. You lashed out with a stick. That makes you the aggressor and we're gonna break all your fingers and burn all your sticks to make sure you don't do it again.

@faab64 That is simply contradictory. If you wage war, be prepared to have a war: this is a basic principle of the last four thousand years, I think.

@faab64

Caity never misses.

OK she's missed a couple of times (saying the left should team up with the antiwar right, like Mike Cernovich) but for the most part, she hits the bullseye every time

@faab64
Oh, they learned from the Russians

@faab64

nope, the spineless zionist #vonderleyen is also saying the same thing

@faab64
It's like they are incapable of not lying, no matter how much it damages their image.

@faab64 The world must surely now be sick of the arrogant self importance of the US leadership.

Irrational, pathologically unreasonable barbaric bastards.

@faab64
The truth literally doesn't matter to these people. War is peace. Freedom is slavery. Ignorance is strength.
