@christoff sadly, that would permanently sever about 100,000 relationships between instances. Mastodon doesnโt have a pause button on suspending instances unfortunately

@pricklypear I am not sure the causal loop is in the right direction there but if the fediverse ever had a compelling set of features/capabilities that drove the masses to want to use it, global governments would have to find a way to instrument it or ban its use for sure.
@jerry I don't think the will of the masses is so authentic and spontaneous (personally).
