@adulau I'm new to matrix so apologies - I downloaded element and picked matrix.circl.lu to create an account, but I get an error, should I be doing this differently?

@apth You need to have an account on another public matrix server like matrix.org to join the public room. We don’t allow account creation on our server.

@adulau it looks like federation is allow list based, for those of us not on matrix.org, what is the process to federate?

@vince The federation is open. Any matrix server or bridge is allowed.

@adulau I’m getting a 403. Anyone I can chat with for an exception?

Tried .well-known/matrix/support but received a 404.

@vince Hello, if revenni.com is your homeserver then it doesn't seem to be federating (I tried DMing your account and it throws "federation denied with tchncs.de"). I can also join the aforementioned room fine, and they do not have an ACL, so it's probably something on your end. cc. @adulau

@austin we got it sorted, thanks! @adulau sent me an invite directly. Revenni.com isn’t the homeserver in question.
