It is awful. But they already cooperated in the build up, and never once put out even the faintest of constraints. They carefully looked the other way, just as they did with the continuous string of executions on the high seas, stealing Venezuelan oil, blockading Cuba, working with Putin to steal Ukrainian territory etc.

They are not being played, but they are putting up a calculated SEMBLANCE of being played. A theatre of innocence and plausible denial of culpability.

I would bet on it, that most European leaders right now are desperately waiting for one of their nationals to be hit by Iran, or even by friendly fire, to justify going all in on the US/Israëli/UK side.

Right now they are mostly lying low and avoid answering any questions about this war. But you would see, the minute they have some excuse to join the attack, they would immediately give national press conferences and what have you.

@heidilifeldman Europeans need to oust their own leaders, at the ballot box or otherwise. Those leaders showed with #Greenland that they're capable of standing up to Trump and making it stick. With #Iran, they just don't want to. They're complicit and disingenuous.
