He’s avoided Parliamentary and media scrutiny by making a pre-recorded announcement…so far so very #Trump.

#Starmer right now is clinging to the leadership of the #Labour party by his fingernails.
He’s not a popular man with the electorate as evidenced by the crushing Labour defeat in Gorton and Denton by-election.
He’s not popular with his party. His rivals are circling.
The small centre right cult that propelled him to power, #LabourTogether has been rumbled…McSweeney has gone along with Josh Simons this weekend.
Convenient timing for war then…not the done thing to change leader at this time
#Starmer does not have the support within the #Labour party to drag the UK into this insane war.
He would be dependent upon #Tories and #Reform.
He’s trying to walk a legal tightrope right now, allowing the US to use UK airbases, shooting down Iranian missiles to defend allies and:
“enabling necessary and proportionate defensive action to destroy Iran’s capability to fire missiles and drones at their source.”
I think he’s about to discover he’s Wile E. Coyote walking off a cliff edge.
I hope he gets his fingernails cut very short tomorrow... and someone takes away the safety net...
Everything about McSweeney and Simon’s behaviour to date would suggest you are right …if anything in their current status of being in the wilderness, they will have less scrutiny upon them. To Starmer’s benefit, no doubt.
