I feel very sorry for the genuine hardworking #Labour councillors who strive to improve their communities.
They have been hugely let down by the #LabourTogether project that enabled #McSweeney to take the man with no ideology - #Starmer and make him a placeholder for Blue Labour leadership, bolstered by Steve Reed, Shabana Mahmood and Wes Streeting.
But this coterie are a minority within the Labour movement.
Please let democracy prevail tomorrow.

#Labour MPs have been cowed into this position by #LabourTogether. I would argue supporting #Netanyahu is very much a minority position within the party.
Who will be brave enough to state this though when they have witnessed what has been done to #Polanski this week? Will the trouncing of Labour and the Tories at tomorrow’s election open up a genuine conversation in UK politics and the media on genocide in Gaza, because to date there hasn’t been.

A significant theme of the report is the malicious targeting with false accusations of antisemitism of Jewish people who support #Palestine. Polanski is himself Jewish, and he too has been targeted with the usual smears.

@rmblaber1956 Of course. For 9 years, the #Starmer / #McSweeney / #LabourTogether axis has followed the #hasbara playbook: lie, deceive, attack, smear, cancel, destroy. It's ruthless and it's relentless. And most of the media supports the strategy, so it usually works.
As #Corbyn found painfully, any concession to this gang will be exploited as weakness.
The only defense is ferocious counter-attack. #ZackPolanski needs to go back on the attack.
@TCatInReality Sigh. The 2019 defeat of Corbyn was the product of two huge and extensively documented factors:
1/ Labour's support base was split by Brexit.
2/ The Labour right (esp ##LabourTogether) ran a hugely-funded, illegally covert smear and sabotage campaign against its own side. It is historically unparalleled in British politics.
Why are you trying to rewrite 2019 and ignore Labour's explicitly left 2017 breakthrough?

But there been a bait and switch.
It was carried out by #LabourTogether. People voted for a centre left government, but actually under the plotting of McSweeney, got a bland imitation of #Sunak led by a faceless #Starmer.
Wow, what a suprise…two of the true blue #LabourTogether crew, Steve Reed and Matthew Pennycook, have shot down in flames Rachel Reeves suggestion of private rent freezes.
#Starmer also refuses to back the idea.
But perhaps the purpose of this radical kite flying exercise was to set herself apart from the current turgid leadership that is going to get flushed out next week anyway.
