Just discovered it last week while watching the Buffy DVD featurettes and have been binging the hell out of it! Jonathan Frid is so damn good... hell! The entire cast is!! How come have I never heard of this show before?

@harmonycorrupted It was very cult, even in its prime.

The effects put me off it, but I remember its existence very well.

There was a remake, movie, I think, maybe a show as well, that flopped hard.

@ricardoharvin I've been reading about it a bit and was shocked to see how popular it was! Was glad though that Jonathan Frid decided to step away from that world when he felt like he was being commodified too much. The remakes look meh honestly and they probably are... not a fan of Tim Burton

@harmonycorrupted People who loved it, LOVED it, and I was disappointed it didn't click with me.

I remembered it was Burton and Depp for the remake, a huge double no.

@ricardoharvin I have my doubts with it too (so far so good though) - after all it's still a massive trope of gothic lit/art for every storyline to only concern some ultra rich white gentry's petty fears that they blow out of proportion😆 Kinda like Lovecraft or Poe etc who were racist yet their fans are very happy to ignore it.
