“Is there a plan?”

“No. It is not our job.”

Meet the press interviews Lindsey Graham, who says it was great that the US killed the Ayatollah, but the US has no plan for Iran’s future.

How is the Iranian people going to build a stable country out of the chaos the US has left by killing the leader and 30+ key officers, while numerous different factions are now fighting to take control?

This is hopelessly naive.

@randahl It's less naïveté and more just sheer sociopathic indifference. No one in Trump's orbit, especially Lindsey Graham, cares at all what happens to everyday Iranians.

@randahl

Mesmo que eles tivessem, falhava como falhou o Iraque e o Afeganistão.

@randahl
No, this is called criminally stupid.
They should be the first to parachute into Tehran

@randahl I don't believe it's naïveté. It's deliberate indifference because the point is destabilization.

"A system's purpose is what it does."
-- Stafford Beer.

If the US-Israel war isn't already prepared to help a new Iranian government step up, the war isn't about a new regime at all. It's about what it does and that's destabilization.

We need to ask who does this destabilizing war serve, besides redirecting attention from Trump's other failures and crises? Or Netanyahu's corruption?

@randahl
Thinking a re-run of Afghanistan would be any better, is naive too.

The problem is not the lack of a plan, it's the continuous meddling in a foreign country all the way back to before BP was called BP.

@randahl was there a plan for Afghanistan? Iraq? Libya? Maybe at least they’re honest… 🤷🏻‍♂️
@flohlaus @randahl Well, Afghanistan turned into a 20 year money sink before Trump made a deal where Taliban took over again.
@randahl Europe (and everyone living here now) was really lucky they had a plan in 1945...
@randahl naive gives them too much credit. Criminally irresponsible is more accurate.
@randahl Graham is a has-been chump. Washed up GOP yes-man. My stomach churns when I see his face or hear his voice.
@randahl Naive doesn’t even begin to touch it. This is the same recipe they used in Iraq. That gave us ISIS, eventually. So expect ISIS with ballistic missiles and drones at their disposal.
@randahl saying they don’t have a plan now is like them saying they didn’t know what project 2025 was until they had it all enacted. Until the rich and powerful become poor and afraid we can assume everything is going pretty much according to their plan. It could be that us knowing would change the outcome but it’s also just as likely that they just don’t feel the need to explain themselves to the likes of us.
@randahl naive? Maybe criminal, incompetent, idiotic, corrupt. Did I say criminal? Made in the US!
@randahl It is easy to destroy and hard to build
@randahl It's so difficult to watch such utter stupidity. "We want to be your friend. We want to have a good relationship going forward." Can't imagine the level of cognitive dissonance required to make a statement like that after we launched an unnecessary war against them.
