don’t you understand? having constant LLM interruptions while you’re typing, suggestions appearing that you cannot help but read and try to parse

IS LITERALLY INTERRUPTING YOUR EVERY THOUGHT

and shaping the outcome whether you “accept” it or not

you cannot think clearly

you are becoming less You

@splendorr Gmail, or...? Just curious. I've not yet encountered this, and I'm wondering how widespread it is.
@splendorr yes and we getting comfortable with it, will be less new ideas, better reinvent the wheel once in a while even if it is stupid but maybe a side effect will happen than using existing ideas which LLM is all about.
@splendorr Doing my best to switch it off - as I fully agree. But it is hard, if not impossible, to get a non-interrupting privacy-respecting work environment when it is based upon microsh*t 🤯
@splendorr Yeah, this. Even autocomplete can be a bit distracting, though I don't personally find that it stops me dead. Any more than one word would, though.
@splendorr They never wanted you to begin with.
@splendorr This is the exact reason why I disable my editor to show me 'code suggestions' on a timeout. Bound it to a key, and now I see it only when I want it.
@splendorr yeah I had to turn off all the databricks suggestion stuff because I couldn't get through a thought about what I was querying without being interrupted
