The greatest joke that my brain chemistry plays on me is that every few years I get an idea for a novel, which I will outline, write several chapters for, and then never touch again.
@evacide it's time to start your substack. This will rock
@evacide Is that called, exorcising a demon?
@evacide 😳 Oh I’m also a member of that particular club πŸ€£β€¦
@daveycraney I have come to appreciate that ideas are cheap and follow-through is expensive.
@evacide With me, it's more like I have to work through things until I see how it all fits together. Then, it's a solved problem, and actually writing it down is...work.
@evacide same brain activity here and i had the idea to make the novel ideas into short stories (fit in one pages) where i cut to the action and only include hints to the world building and i have a few of them. Once i have 50 of them I will probably create a collection. If you want i can show you one, i would appreciate some feedback.
@evacide Why does this sound so familiar to me?

@evacide I have a few stories not finished because I wrote myself to a wall and don't know how to get out of there.
I know what I want to happen AFTER but getting out of that hole seems impossible.

And now my brain doesn't want to start another story until I finish those two ><

@evacide ... i "suffer" the same malady. But, for me it's all fun. Let the stories unfold. Write what you want. Short stories, long stories, whatever comes to mind. No story is lost. But, many are untold. Best regards - stay creative :)

@evacide

Write a novel about a brilliant and amazing writer who struggles with writing and goes through a transformatioal experience or two during that process.

After many trials and tribulations, that would make the Trojan War and the Odyssey look like popping down the shops for bread and milk, the author creates the most impactful work since the Epic of Gilgamesh πŸ™‚

So write from life and what you know πŸ™‚πŸ‘

@evacide This happened to me so often I started an entire blog called Opening Chapters. Let someone else deal with it.

Opening Chapters

I write lots of opening chapters. Most of them go nowhere. This is a record of those stillbirths.

@evacide It's practice for that one time those several chapters happen to include a beginning, a middle and an end πŸ™‚
@evacide you need a ghostwriter.
Not offering as I have a similar mind, and I loathe writing doco.
I'm good at ripping it apart and critiquing.
@evacide until you do. We'll hopefully be there when it gets out.
@evacide As somebody with three or four halfway NaNoWriMo drafts, I absolutely get you
@evacide atleast you got idea, l got nothing in few years πŸ₯€

@evacide

See, you are relatable.
