May need to re-watch 1993's Dave with Kevin Kline and Sigourney Weaver. Directed by Ivan Reitman, it's a good, light hearted comedy that manages to do the impossible - make you feel good about politics. A bit cheesy but highly recommended. 👍 ★★★★☆

@gedeonm the only thing that really clangs with me in this movie is when he invites Charles Grodin to the White House to solve the budget and he has some classic idiot line of “if I ran my business this way” and then they solve the federal budget in like 4 hours.

Since I learned so much more about how government funding and tax policy actually work, it drives me nuts to hear anything that claims that you can fix government by treating it like a business.

@HitokiriEric Yep, I agree. Also the film’s villains seem positively milk toast compared to our current government. But I’m willing to suspend disbelief cause it’s great.
