Designing some kitchen/bathroom shelves... trying to get it so the lighting and support bolts are all nice and clean.

@aphyr I've had great luck iwth the products from Waveform for high-CRI LED lighting if that helps. They're not cheap, but the light quality is outstanding.

@petrillic Oh cool! I'm probably gonna throw Hue strips in there--I've spent all this time writing control software for it.
@aphyr for my kitchen specifically, I really. wanted accuracy. Bathroom, I'm using high CRI bulbs because... I need all the help first thing in the morning as possible.
@petrillic @aphyr If you want to get really color+light nerdy, look into TM-30. It uses a 99 color sample compared to CRI’s 8, so provides better color and saturation accuracy.

@aphyr this looks so cool. I love getting to see all your build stuff go from concept to implementation.

I know you’re way more experienced at this than me, so you’ve probably got an elegant solution, but… have you left enough space in the depth of the shelves to fit a screwdriver or drill? Cause I can see myself going “ahh fuck” and having to go buy a right-angled screwdriver or something 😂

@aphyr I just realised your elegant solution might be a spanner 😂
@shieldsy05 See the installation steps in the first image--the shelves flip up to expose the bolts. :-)
@aphyr Hidden brackets made from the tubey tube offcuts. Load capacity not known... yet.
