Massachusetts folk: contact your state senators and ask them to oppose this bill when they take it up. The bill kills Mass Save which has helped tons of people including me make their homes and apartments more efficient and sustainable. It also allows utilities to continue to charge ratepayers for the cost of utilities’ lobbying, which is normally against renewable energy. And the bill’s lead sponsor Rep. Cusack has taken donations that look clearly corrupt. #MApoli

Mass. House advances bill aimed at tackling energy affordability

House Ways and Means Chairman Aaron Michlewitz expects Bay Staters will see "immediate cost savings" as a result of new rebates and Mass Save cuts if the bill becomes law. Environmental activists have argued this week that the House's cut to Mass Save would "devastate" the state's energy efficiency program and grind it to a halt.

@D_J_Nathanson Really disappointed in my rep. I'd wager most of Somerville/Medford has had Mass Save work done on their houses, and the ones that haven't desperately need it. Sold us out for party politics.
@ted Wait, if your rep is Uyterhoven, she voted against it I think? I'm really impressed with her on most issues.
@D_J_Nathanson I wish. West Somerville and South Medford is represented by Christine Barber.
