My name is Alexandra. I help build I Write Like, a text editor. Unless one is a tech giant, the chances of people discovering their creation are slim, regardless of how wonderful the creation is. I wanted to change that, so I came to Mastodon.
I’m a writer. I share my short stories and poems, often illustrated with my own art and photography. I'm also interested in #science, #history, and #music.
I’m fairly new here and still learning.

@iwritelike Welcome to the fediverse. I'm a newbie too. A friend finds #WritingCommunity helpful, you might too.
@braxa26 Thank you, Janet! How has it been for you here? I myself felt pretty lost here at first but it's getting better. Thank you for reminding me about the tag!
@iwritelike Frankly, a bit lonely as friends and family are still drinking the social media Kool aid for the most part. Artist groups (maybe other than writers?) are pretty sparse - or maybe I have yet to learn how to make connections. Have found most people very kind and generous, though, and there's lots of interesting individuals.
@braxa26 Thank you for sharing this. I think it can get very lonely on social media. It's not the same as being on your own outside in real life, where one can connect with other sides of life. Here, life consists of people's thoughts. If you don't connect, it feels like a vacuum, at least to me. People seem to behave differently on Mastodon though, with less agenda, less pretense.
