Was laughing tears writing the first few versions of this blog post. I toned it down a bit to make sure that one would understand that, in spite of all its very real absurdity, it in fact is a serious topic. I hope one can still feel how much I enjoyed writing it. It evolved out of the six posts I wrote on Markdown, last year. Still four to go.

Just posted my post about Microsoft Office and how obsolete it is, Siri hon the bus, and then I hear two women complaining about... Microsoft.

"You know why it's so crazy? Teams made for people that are not like me. Very boring people with only one email account."
"They surely exist."
"Maybe. But since everybody uses it, I have to use it, too."
"Sometimes I wonder if these boring people exist though, or if it is made for people that don't exist."
"I don't know but it does drive me crazy."

@reichenstein team is the worst. Can confirm am very boring!

@reichenstein Very good essay, Oliver - you just inspired me to start teaching my 17-year old daughter how to use her iPad Pro the proper way - by using IA Writer and writing in Markdown.

At school she uses MS Office of course…

Maybe I’ll even get her to use iA Presenter?

@michael This is the way. :-) Seriously though, our son is a big fan of iA Presenter. He's not impartial, but mostly he prefers it because it is much much faster than WYSIWYG. I need to write about an Office in schools next.
@reichenstein Totally, Office in schools. Go for it! 👊
@reichenstein On point, great work once again! iA still sticking with Apple and Microsoft tho? I was very happy to discover the wonderful Apostrophe on Linux (https://flathub.org/en/apps/org.gnome.gitlab.somas.Apostrophe), but would still jump on Writer if it was available :)
