Anyone for the outdatedness of Slackware?
My Slackware Tilers setup runs Sway, with the nwg-shell. And Mangowc with Noctalia. And Niri with Dank. Hyprland is available, but not installed. And Slackware Current. All from one iso and repository by @jloc0 . Smart thing: package sets are linked by symbolic links. Type "slackpkg install dank" and you'll see all related packages before they're pulled in. Way less 'dependency hell'. And very much up to date ๐Ÿ˜„ Thanks Jay!

@thesaigoneer everyone has at least one good idea in their lifetime. This was mine, symbolic package repo. Deps? We donโ€™t need no deps where weโ€™re going. ๐Ÿ˜†
@jloc0 It is a very nifty idea. Saw it this morning, when adding DMS. Search dank, install dank, cool. Colloid icons, ghostty, inter font: indeed a great starting point for anyone who's looking to give it a go. Or be as crazy as me, trying out 3 different shells ๐Ÿคช

@thesaigoneer @jloc0

Well I have dank and noctalia on labwc, and I've already had 2 PRs accepted at noctalia. Labwc? Because I adopted it in 2021, the very early days. My biggest addition was adding gettext to labwc. I've also had various, albeit small, bugfixes and features added to labwc.
I must agree that just 'slackpkg install dank' or 'slackpkg install noctalia' is the easiest and best way to install these shells out of all the distros. We use slackware-current BTW ๐Ÿ˜œ

Cool you are contributing to the project. And indeed labwc comes standard in Slackware, so that option is to be explored (mentioned it before). I'll have that ArchLabs scrot updated to a Slackware scrot, with the Wayland Openbox labwc
