When you move to a new place and discover neighbors doing things you believe harm the earth, do you walk away or gently share what you know? Today I saw a neighbor burning garden waste. Maybe they did not know some of it can become rich manure, or that smoke damages nature and health #ProtectNature #TeachNotJudge #CleanAir #SustainableLiving
Change begins with patience, not judgment. Let’s guide with care. πŸ™πŸ™
@pacific06 In my opinion, it's probably best to begin by asking your neighbor why they're burning, and letting them explain their reasoning. Then you'll know where their head is at, and how (or whether) to approach suggesting they change their behavior. I think when one moves somewhere new, it's important to remember that one might not always be cognizant of local perspectives (at least at first); besides, change always comes easier when the effort begins with dialogue.
@doctorLURK Thank you, I really appreciate your perspective and the way you think about things. Honestly, we need more people with your mindset. We truly value your advice and will keep it in mind when we approach the situation. We have not yet talked to them yet, but since we are new here We want to be clear about what we stand against while still starting with a conversation.
