Gotta love the bald head and neck presumably so that scavenging a big carcass doesn't foul their feathers. What is the evolutionary pressure for that?

@ScribblersEmporium My understanding is that both thermoregulation and need for cleanliness contributed to the variety of bald heads we see in vultures today compared to other scavengers such as buzzards.
