Today in Labour are the Tories news…

Do you remember the Tories creating a fake fact checking brand on Twitter?

The screenshot is from the linked Owen Jones BlueSky post about #GortonandDenton

#GortonandDenton

@urlyman well folks could report it to nominet. Edit: make a criminal complaint and ensure it goes to Nominet. The tactical choice website was registered by the greens.

@[email protected] @[email protected] tho https://tactical-choice.uk was registered by the Greens after the Labour fake claim came out.. it’s countering the original campaign material so not sure it should be reported to Nominet - afaik I don’t think there’s any fake website up, just claims from a fake org.. (so a different kind of fraud).

@onepict @urlyman the site Labour was pretending to be I think was the one here https://tactical.vote/gorton-and-denton/
Tactical voting in Gorton and Denton

tactical.vote

@nicol @onepict @urlyman can you explain why all the bile about Labour "lying", "pretending" this site is real yet it is suggesting you should tactically vote Green... on the basis of small leads in two recent polls. Could it actually be sleight of hand by the Greens, after all politicians behave like politicians, whatever the colour.

@robertklaschka @onepict @urlyman well I've not investigated as I hope some journalists are in the process of doing…

But a glaring difference is tactical.vote is a tactical voting website who give a long explanation why they suggest voting Green, while 'tactical-choice' is a fictional entity that appeared in Labour's own campaign material (presumably spooked by tactical.vote's call).

How are the Green's supposed to have infiltrated the Labour campaign in order to produce Labour campaign material with a fake website making a fake claim to make Labour look bad? It's quite a complicated, spy-cops level conspiracy the Greens would have had to orchestrate…

@robertklaschka @onepict @urlyman somehow the Daily Mail would have to be in on it too - their piece has photos of Labour's leaflet: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-15593029/Labour-accused-dirty-tricks-leaflets-fake-tactical-voting-group-letterboxes.html

The leaflet says it is promoted on behalf of Labour candidate Angeliki Stogia.

Labour is accused of 'dirty tricks' after 'leaflets from fake tactical voting group arrive in letterboxes'

The flyer (pictured) was put through voters' doors in the Greater Manchester constituency on Wednesday evening, before they head to the polls on Thursday.
