@Daojoan The first thing that shocked me when I went to the US for the first time was how shitty roads were. I mean, this was the richest country in the world, it should have the best roads in the world, and not the shittiest I had been on (I had only been in Europe until then)... Then, I heard Americans talking about taxes and I understood why roads were so shitty. (and why school was not free, and why you'd go bankrupt if you got surgery and so on)
