Doomers don’t want to save the world. They want the world to end so they can be right. That’s the whole bit. That’s the entire psychology. They’d rather be vindicated in the rubble than proven wrong in a future that works.
@Daojoan 💯 These people would rather burn everything down, including themselves, than admit they are wrong. Conservatism is a mental illness.
@Daojoan i dont want to be right ive simply seen enough and am tired of being here / next
@Daojoan No. It's more, oh please, let me be wrong. Really wrong. So wrong.
If there's one thing I'd love to be it's wrong.
DAMMIT. *sighs*

Guardian Essential poll: more than half of Australians open to voting for One Nation despite Hanson’s Muslim comments

A quarter of respondents say they would ‘definitely’ back the rightwing populist party at the next election while a third say they’re ‘open’ to it

The Guardian

@gusseting

If the poll is accurate this country is officially utterly and irredeemably fucked.

I don't want to live here anymore.

@kingsleybugarin
yeah, but where you gonna go? Somewhat of a global phenomenon…

@gusseting

If I had unlimited money I'd settle for the Cayman islands.

English speaking, warm climate, low crime and a small relatively weak government that shouldn't be able to intrude on peoples private lives the way a large well organised one can.

But, I have almost no resources so I'm stuck living under soft authoritarianism that might turn very hard in a couple of years.

@Daojoan People who pay mortage don't want economic restructuring since the period between debt default and debt jubilee can be stressful.

@Daojoan

"Collapse" better framed as "dissolution" (or reorientation) anyways.

@Daojoan Canadian doomer checking in, frankly I do want to save the world, but the world (NA) isn't willing to take the necessary steps to do so. Execute political and industrial figures that have pushed weaker regulations and sold public crowns to private interests. Treat crimes based on impact. White collar crime in Canada, isn't. I'm more than certain that that's the case around the globe. Drag their families into the punishment too, make people understand its bigger than them.
