So I've been on the receiving end of some, thankfully short lived, transphobic and ableist harassment, today, on Lemmy/Piefed. And I wanted to document it, because I think it's important to express and also show the things we are going through. How unhinged transphobic people can be, so here goes.

#transphobia #ableism #lemmy #piefed #threadiverse #harassment

It all started with this post "Would ya maties still rule me" on /c/[email protected].

And I decided to answer it because, believe or not, and I can't fucking believe I'm saying this, I actually have a personal experience with scurvy! I contracted that shit when I was ~16. And all I've lost all of my teeths at 18, they were surgically removed, due to, among other things, that. So I made a comment about that... and you can see that there are two deleted comments underneath that. They've been removed by moderation.

When I logged on to Piefed earlier and saw that I had a bunch of notifications, I thought that people were just curious about this, because it's an uncommon experience. But no. It was all just this person, this "[email protected]".

Here is the first comment he left on that post. It's strange because I'm so unsused to seeing "he/him" to refer to me nowadays, apart from my own self-hate, that it took several reads for my brain to get that: "Ooooh... he's talking about me."

My first thought was like: "Huh. That's new." because I'm not used to that kind of shit.

My second thought was: "Oh. programming.dev. of course." Sorry to the people over there, I've seen your rules and they're cool, but for some reason, I've seen a lot of dipshits coming from your instance. No idea why. To be fair, the threadiverse (Lemmy/Piefed) has gotten quite the uptick in dipshit activity in general, lately and maybe you've been hit particularly hard for some reason, I don't know.

And my third thought was: "Asshole, moving on."

But I wasn't expecting the next three notification to also be from this person.

Apparently, this wasn't enough for this person because they then proceeded to go on my profile and answer some comments I made with more of their shit.

They did it on this one, regarding the war in Ukraine.

And to this one, which I made a week ago on a post on /c/[email protected]. And this one actually hurts, because this polluted (even if it was banned) the comment section of a trans sister who was talking to us about a bad experience that happened to her.

But then, an hour later, I guess this person just didn't have their fill yet because they went back to the first post and added another comment, which... you alright there?

So, I see all of this, and I decide to check the profile out. Their profile was greeted 5 hours ago. And they made their profile for and about me! Like, look at this shit!

People...

THE TRANSPHOBES ARE NOT OK.

(by the way, that's the wrong handle dipshit, i'm @purplerabbit, fucking get it right)

And originally, this is where I was going to close the thread but I have one more thing to show you. The moderation log history of programming.dev filtered to this user in particular.

And as you can see... well, they've been banned for transphobia, get fucked. But you can also see that I was evidently LIVING FUCKING RENT FREE IN THIS PERSON'S MIND. As they went and commented on other posts I wasn't a part of at all about me.

Very normal behavior.

(Also, to the moderators who specifically deleted the two comments: These are not "spam". This is transphobic and targeted harassment.)

Anyway. This was my little story of the day. I'm not feeling a lot of things about this... for now. I decided to document it to process it. I don't know if that did the trick. It's weird to be the target of this kind of stuff. It may be the first time but I don't think it'll be the last.

The internet is getting worse.
