I was just outside watering the garden in the dark and when I came inside, I started talking to Kid2 who was near the front door and then we both heard a big flap behind us. I thought it was a moth but then Kid2 spotted it on the door – a praying mantis!

I asked if it would like to go back outside and it said (I assume, if the waving of the forelegs were anything to go by) yes please, so we did. I wonder if it was one of the babies we put outside last spring?! I kind of hope it was 🥰

Yeah I quite like bugs myself & I do admit to having a few favourites & some I’d happily do without 😬.

@feather1952 Yeah, I should clarify that I'm not exactly comfortable with having them in the house. Love bugs as long as we can live in separate spaces (spiders excepted, happy to share with them)

Oh I don’t want them in the house either & don’t want spiders inside either, they aren’t bugs 🐜 🐛, they’re aliens 👾😂.

@feather1952 Hahaha, I understand the sentiment! But I still love them (the bitey ones do have to live outside, though -- we just collect them and pop them back in the weeds far from the house)

Look, I get what you are saying and it’s totally logical. In fact I am of the same mind, ideally. Except where my nest is concerned about all forms of life (including crims and home invasions) 😂😂
