We have proposed to open negotiations with Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia and Serbia to extend the EU’s 'Roam Like at Home' regime to these Western Balkan countries.

This would allow people travelling between the EU and Western Balkans to call, text and use mobile data without roaming surcharges, making it easier and more affordable for them to stay in touch while abroad for study, work or holidays.

@GelatDeTramussos AFAIK it depends on your mobile carrier. Some still offer it, others don’t. For example, Deutsche Telekom still includes roaming in the UK and Switzerland, but their subsidiary "fraenk" only covers Switzerland, not the UK.

@GelatDeTramussos @EUCommission it’s possible with some services eg Phone Coop still offers EU roaming at UK prices. But many of them don’t I believe

@WilliamHeath @EUCommission I guess it is something that can be discussed between EU and phone companies. It seems you don't need to be part of the EU to have roaming in the EU. But being an EU member certainly helps. 😬
