@fastmail There was that weird period where you got bought by Opera and personnel had to move from Australia to Europe. That did make me consider switching providers.

@fastmail What makes people leave? Or repels them in the first place?

Hosting email in the US where there is no right to privacy and where the rule of law doesn't exist.

@samueljohnson @fastmail it is concerning that they host in the US still, I'd settle for Europe if not Australia at this point. It is becoming clear laws make no difference to the current administration.
@samueljohnson @fastmail yeah. Fundamentally FM does NOT have my trust while they sit in US servers. I believe they mean well, but I also know they are largely powerless to properly protect my data.
